Weight Training Techniques to Improve Your Fitness

Weight Training Techniques to Improve Your Fitness
Most people tend to ignore the thought of where to hold their weight when doing lunges and squats. According to fitness experts, different techniques target various muscle groups, and some may help your recovery in case of an injury. Here is how weight placement can transform common exercises:
Front Squat vs. Back Squat
Front squats are known to exercise the front part of your body, which includes the quads and abdominal muscles. Moreover, front squats shift the center of gravity towards the toe side of the foot, which increases your ability to move the body forward.
Back squats also exercise your quads, and at the same time, they work out your glutes and lower back. The pressure applied to your spine is essential in strengthening the spine but can result in severe pain and discomfort to people with spinal injuries or a weak core.
Straight Arm Planks vs. Forearm Planks
Forearm planks challenge your core and can be done by people who tend to exercise their base but have weak arms or poor shoulder stability. Workout supplements available at musclesfax.ws can come in handy, especially if you’re just getting back to training after a long hiatus.
According to gym trainers, keeping your forearms parallel to each other rather than holding your hands together. It promotes proper scapular and postural positioning.
Straight arm plank engages several muscle groups. Furthermore, since your body is far off of the ground, it is easier to maintain stability, which makes it even more effective in achieving overall body strength.
Lunges with Dumbbells at the Sides vs. Lunges with Dumbbells at the Shoulders vs. Lunges with Dumbbells Overhead
Holding dumbbells on your sides while making lunges decreases the amount of work required to move your body. In addition, it minimizes the amount of work your core has to do to stabilize.
Holding the dumbbells at your shoulders and with your legs pushing the weights forward and upwards requires more strength.Nonetheless, this exercise is limited to the size and shape of dumbbells, and it is useful in strengthening your core muscles.
Lunges with the dumbbells overhead challenges your core and shoulder stability. However, you should be cautious to avoid injuring your shoulders.
Sit-Ups with Your Hands Crossed Over the Chest vs. Sit-Ups with Your Hands Behind the Head
Performing sit-ups with your hands crossed over the chest increases your stability, hence making the exercise easier. This exercise targets your upper abs and is gentler on your cervical spine.
On the other hand, sit-ups with the hands behind the head put more emphasis on the lower abs and you will experience fewer neck strains.
Benefits of Weight Training
Other than burning excess calories and fat, here are other standard benefits of weight training:
Weight training increases your heart rate, which promotes blood circulation throughout your body. Based on research, blood flow-improving effects of weight training are known to last up to 30 minutes after the training session.
Besides that, the training strengthens your muscles, which helps to boost stability. Lifting weights is also known for improving your posture and helps you to stay upright.

Planning A Big Family Christmas Getaway

Christmas is a wonderful time of year where we all enjoy spending time with all our family. The extended family included. We gather around, enjoy the company, play silly games, enjoy a huge sit-down dinner and get merry right through to the new year celebrations. Some people enjoy staying at home whereas others like to book a breakaway. If you have a large family, however, there can be a lot to consider when planning a Christmas break away, especially if the extended family are going to be joining you.

Let’s have a look below at some of the consideration you need to make:

Accommodation

The type of accommodation and size is, of course, going to be ruled by who is going. If it’s you and your children then a small cosy cottage might suffice however if nans, grandads, aunt and uncles are also going to be tagging along then you are definitely going to need to think about hiring a larger property that’s going to cater for everyone. There is an abundance of options on sites such as Air B n B and Hoeseasons have some great options. You can even narrow down your requirements for things such as how many rooms you need, how bathrooms, the size of the dining table and the amount of car parking spaces available.

Travel

When planning a big family trip it’s important to make careful considerations over how you are going to travel, especially in the winter months. If there is going to a lot of your travelling, it might be a good idea to car share or think about Coach hire. This way you are minimising the number of cars on the road, how many people are driving and also reducing the cost of fuel. It will also help with car parking at your destination. You can get coaches that seat as little as 19 people which is the ideal size for a few families to go together.

Food And Drink

For most, food and drink is a big part of the Christmas season, with many of us indulging in a few drinks, luxury foods and tins of chocolates. In fact, the Christmas food shop is most likely the most expensive food shop of the year, with a lot of people needing to save in order to be able to splash out with supermarket tokens throughout the year. It’s a good idea to think about grabbing some deals while you can and stocking up rather than bulk buying especially if there is going to be a fair few of you. If your food bill is already going to high because of Christmas think about what it would be like if you were all together in one place. However, you are able to split the bill between all of you which could work out better.

Presents

Even though Christmas isn't all about presents it's about the time you spend together, we all still somehow get caught up in spoiling each other especially when it comes to children and Santa. When staying away it's worth considering leaving the majority of the presents until you are home otherwise you are going to end up using all your space in your vehicle with gifts rather than the things you actually need. You could always use a roof carrier or trailer but if these aren't items you already have it could be a little bit expensive just for a Christmas getaway.

Christmas is fast approaching so it's definitely time to get into full preparation mode. Whether you're going away or staying at home, it's time to get that to-do list out and start ticking things off. Do you have anything that should be added to everyone's Christmas list? Please share in the comments section.

Dietbon Weight Loss Meals Review

Sticking to diets is so hard for me, I'm never fully satisfied and I get really cranky so I don't want to exercise either. I've tried almost every diet technique under the sun and calorie counting seems the most efficient way, so, I teamed up with Dietbon to prove how effective their weight loss meals are and to try shift this stubborn weight.
Dietbon is made from 100% natural ingredients that are incredibly tasty and really efficient and time saving.

Including ready meals for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner plus a teatox too, it's sent fresh directly to you by courier and all ready to start your journey, Dietbon uses a mixture of low fat, low carb, and autonomy day techniques that make for delicious food an even better weight loss.
The autonomy day is a day you can cook for yourself, go to a friends or eat out at a restaurant.

The package comes with a great booklet with so much information and great recipes for your non-plan days, it even has a space for any questions you have for the dietician and a graph to track your weight loss as well as a phone call from a specialist Dietician to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have.

Here's how I got on...

Day1: I was really nervous to start with, thinking the meals would be awful and I'd hate it and it was the extreme opposite, I loved it, I had pancakes toasted for breakfast with a cup of Energy tea to start my day, I headed off to work and had a lemon cake for a snack around 1.30pm.
When I got home I had Chicken Pasta salad with vegetables, and I have to say its to die for, it had been refrigerated so was nice and cold and fresh too.

Day2: for day 2 I had my off-plan day as I was travelling and visiting family but tried not to eat over my calories for the day, I had pasta with passata and herbs for my dinner that night so it wasn't too bad.

Day3: Day 3 came easy with just a lemon cake for breakfast with some tea, I didn't have lunch but had another tea instead, then for dinner I had Sautéed Pork with potatoes and vegetables and it was delicious like it had been home-cooked and just stuck in a container, definitely one of my favourites so far.

Day4: for the day 4 dinner I tried the pasta and meatballs and it was so saucy and lovely, cooked in the microwave for only 2.5mins it was perfect temperature and ready to eat. For desert, I had an Apple and Pear compote which was delicious.

Day5: Today started off well and I had a coffee with some extra milk for calcium, I had a banana with my lunch (spicy tomato and  beef soup) which was delicious, then when I got home I had the chicken with Mash potatoes and vegetables which didn't really fill me up but I didn't have any cravings to eat anything else.

Day6: today was an easy day, I was at work all day so had a light breakfast of coffee with a lemon cake, for lunch I had the salmon with carbonara pasta and I'm not much of a fish lover but this was lovely. Once I got home I had an apple for a snack then had the Navarin with roasted vegetables and roast chicken for dinner with some grated cheese to top up my calcium.

Day7: today was my last day and I really think I saved the best meals til last! I had an apple and pear compote for breakfast with my coffee and headed off to work, had a quick snack of a Lemon cake and a banana for lunch then got home and had ravioli with pesto and goats cheese for dinner this meal has to be one of my absolute favourites and id definitely recommend anyone to get this!!

What I think:
Well for starters I've lost...5lb And I'm feeling fantastic! I know 5lb isn't a lot but it really does make a big difference in how I feel.
The meals are truly delicious I was so worried I wouldn't like them but they were so tasty and filling I was surprised at how I didn't crave food in between meals either, overall I really enjoyed the plan and would 100% try it again but for longer! I'm so happy with my loss and feel better in my mindset to reach my goals.

My Dietary Consultation:
Before I started the plan I had a 30 minute phone call from a dietary consultant to discuss my plan with me and also and answer any queries I had, she was extremely friendly and happy to help with my questions about the program, we discussed about my exercise routine and also how much extra calcium and vitamins I need along with the program too. She gave me helpful tips about what exercise I need to be doing and how I can balance it in with my lifestyle, it really was just like talking to a friend I was so comfortable on the phone to her, she really did make me at ease with it all.

More info:

The cost of the program is...
• 1 month: £76 per week
• 2 months: £67 per week
• 3 months: £59 per week
• 4 months: £44 per week

This amounts to less than £7 per day for 4 meals, including delivery and dietary consultations which is a really great deal, plus you can get a 15% discount with the code, WELCOME as well as a free 28-day Morning & Night detox tea cure. To do this, it is necessary to use this link :

Board Game Club: Exploding Kittens

This game was sent to us by Asmodee for #boardgameclub in exchange for an honest review.

Exploding Kittens is a not a board game as such but a card game that's incredibly fun, its aimed at 7+ years and is very addictive. In the deck of cards are some Exploding Kittens. You play the game by putting the deck face down and taking turns drawing cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten. When that happens, that person explodes. They are now dead and out of the game. This process continues until there’s only 1 player left, who wins the game. The more cards you draw, the greater your chances of drawing an Exploding Kitten.

This is a brilliant and exciting game for older kids and is so much fun, all the kitten cards have different names and some have absolutely hilarious names like Tacocat, Hairy potato cat, Catermelon, and so many more to laugh at.

The rules of the game are fairly simple as above but there are so many more cards to add into the mix, Attack cards that force the next player to take 2 turns in a row, The Skip card that does exactly what it says, The Favor card that forces players to give you 1 card of you choice, Shuffle card mixes the draw pile up, See the future card lets you peek at the top 3 cards of the draw pile, the nope card that can stop any action of another player immediately, the Defuse card that can defuse an Exploding Kitten and last the Exploding kitten card that kills you out of the game.
BASICALLY...

IF YOU EXPLODE, YOU LOSE.
AND YOU ARE FULL OF INCENDIARY LOSER SADSAUCE. IF YOU DON'T EXPLODE, YOU WIN! AND YOU ARE FULL OF GREATNESS. GOOD JOB, BUDDY. AND ALL OF THE OTHER CARDS WILL LESSEN YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING EXPLODED BY EXPLODING KITTENS.

We really hope you have fun playing it because we have!
You can find Exploding Kittens on Amazon with all of the expansions too! including an NSFW adult version which looks so much fun!
