30 Activities for Norfolk library's this summer!

If your anything like me, your a forgetful soul, I always seem to miss summer activities or see them just after they have finished and think yo myself 'oh the kids would have loved this' so this year I've wrote a list of what's going on in Great yarmouth and surrounding areas and finally gathered a list of what's going on in local librarys, so enjoy, add them to your calendar or planner and ENJOY!!!

What's on library


Great Yarmouth Library:

22nd July, 11 am - 1pm - Summer reading challenge launch party with crafts.

26th July, 11:30am - meet the blue cross, learn about pet care.

1st August, 11 am -12;30pm - Animal Agents CSI, for 6-8 years and their grown ups £3 per child.

9th August - Community Garden bug walk- ages 5 and over, please dress appropriately for the weather.

9th August- 5:45pm -7:15pm - Animal Agents CSI - for 8 -11 year olds £3 each.

15th August- 10:30am - 12pm - Growing together gardening fun in the community garden.



16th August - 5pm - 7pm - Owl evening - meet an owl from Fritton Owl Sanctuary.

23rd August - 11am - 2pm - Pop into the mobile library in St . Georges Park for some circus fun.

24th August - 2pm - 3:30pm - Under the sea animals craft time.

13th September - 4pm OR 6pm - Summer reading challenge medal ceremony.

* Don't forget, Get Crafty will be continuing every Saturday between 11am-1pm with a weekly animal theme. And regular Bounce and Rhyme sessions will also be continuing,  every Monday from 10:30am- 11 am. *

Gorleston Library:

24th July - 10:30am -11:30am OR 11:30am -12:30pm - Code Club taster sessions (only 8 spaces per session, please book via the library).

25th July -11am - 12pm - Meet the Blue Cross and learn about pet care enjoy quizzes and crafts.

26th July - 10:30am 11:30am -  Animal Agents quizzes and crafts, drop in and enjoy a range of fun activities.

2nd August - 10:30am -11:30am - Garlic Theatre Performs the fantastic puppet version of Little Red Robinhood: Booking essential, tickets £1.50 each or £5 family of 4.

8th August - 10:30am - 11:30am - Animal Agents CSI - for ages 8 and over, booking essential, charges may apply.

9th August - 10:30am - 11:30am - Animal Agents a for ages 7 and under, booking essential, charges may apply.

21st August - 11am - 2pm - Pop into the mobile library at Magdalen Square in Gorleston for circus themed activitys.

25th August - Time TBC  (check Facebook for details) - Count on Norfolk Story Time: Enjoy stories and maths in these interactive tales.

12th September - 4pm OR 5pm - Summer reading challenge medal ceremony.

Caister Library:

25th July - 2pm - 4pm - Summer Reading Challenge Launch.

28th July - 10:30am - 12pm - Under the sea animals crafts time.

7th August - 2:30pm - 4pm - A Mammoth Afternoon Craft Time.

11th August - 10:30am - 11am - Three Billy Goats Gruff, story time for 2-4 year olds.

17th August - 2:30pm - 4pm - Animal Agents CSI, for over 8 years, please book in advance, maximum  of 10 children per session £3 each.

18th August - 10:30am - 11am - Story time and meet up for local childminders.

25th August - Time TBC  (pkease check on Facebook closer to the time) - Count On Norfolk Story Time.

Lowestoft Library:

From 22nd July- Book Buddies - for children under 3 years  visit the library 6 times over the summer holidays to complete challenge and win a certificate or prize.

22nd July - Animal Agents - for ages 4 and up - Summer reading challenge over 6 weeks summer holidays. Plus a extra special treasure hunt around the library.

Every Sunday 11am-12pm - for primary school age children.

4th August - 10 am - 12pm - meet the author: Catherine Coed plus visit and crafts from Fritton Owl Sanctuary. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. 

Every thursday morning - baby bounce - 11-11:45am for newborns and pre walkers.

All events are free unless otherwise sated. Under 8's must be accompanied by an adult.
