Holiday Planning To California - San Diego
So I've always wanted to visit California, go to Disneyland, visit The walk of fame and San Diego Zoo and maybe even go see the Hollywood Sign. So we've been looking at maybe going in a few years with the kids and staying at a nice Beach Rentals in San Diego so its right near the Zoo and SeaWorld but its also only a couple of hours from the other places we want to go too!
So I've made a List of places that we want to visit when we go so we can explore but still enjoy our beach holiday too!
San Diego Zoo- San Diego Zoo is one of the most famous zoo's in the world and who wouldn't want to visit right?! Its full of fun things to do and see including their Dr.Zoolittle show and the Skyfari, I'm so looking forward to this!
The Zoo was founded over 90 years ago and features over 4,000 animals including the nearly extinct giant panda, the zoo is situated north of downtown San Diego in Balboa Park and is open every day of the year.
SeaWorld San Diego- I love SeaWorld its a beautiful place, I've been to the Florida park and its amazing, seeing the wildlife and the park full of love for the animals is beautiful, SeaWorld is full of shows, rides that will make you squeal with excitement and beautiful wildlife that you just wont want to leave. Its magical atmosphere and such a fun place to visit, its perfect for family's or couples even the older generation can enjoy it.
Disneyland Anaheim- Now being a HUGE Disney fan of course Disneyland is a MUST do for us, we love it, our kids love it and seeing their faces when you get there is just a magical moment in itself.
Disneyland California is where the magic began to really grow, it was the first park built by the Walt Disney company and it has tonnes to do.
Whether your going to go on all the rides or you just walk around with a mickey bar ice cream and soak up the atmosphere its worth the trip, with Walt's apartment, meeting characters the brilliant world of colour show and of course all the magic of the parks itself its one you just cant miss off your list.
Hollywood- Who doesn't want to go to Hollywood?! The world famous Sign, The amazing walk of fame, the luxury stores, the Chinese Theatre, The world famous Wax museum and Universal Studios.
Wow its got so much to do!, plus Hollywood is only 2 and a half hour drive away from San Diego so whether your gonna stay a few days or just rent a car its easy to get to. And you never know you may bump into a celebrity or two!
Shopping- Now who doesn't love to shop right?! Well I do so finding the right mall is essential:
- Westfield Plaza Bonita is a top one on my list as I'm not really a fashion girl and this has more normal stores, featuring stores like Macy's, Target, H&M and Applebee's this mall has something for everyone, it also has a 14 screen AMC cinema and a whole load of places to eat.
- Fashion Valley Centre is a high end mall featuring stores like Tiffany's, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Hugo Boss and Apple, With a tonnes of restaurants and another very large AMC multiplex cinema, its not my cup of tea but the fashion ladies would love it!
California and San Diego are lovely holiday destinations with so much to do but if you just want to relax check out these places too!
Fishing: Lake Cuyamaca is a 110 acre lake filled with over 440,00 pounds of fish, its also the only lake In San Diego that is allowed to stock trout all year long. Perfect for a relaxing bit of fishing in serenity.
Golf: The Balboa Park Golf Course is an 18 hole course just off downtown San Diego, fun for those who want to get competitive or just let off some steam.
The beach: clothing-optional Black's Beach in La Jolla around 9miles north of San Diego is a 2 mile long golden sandy beach - just check the signs to make sure your on the right part of the beach as you could get fined if your on the 'nudity prohibited' side.
Family Beach: La Jolla Shores is a mile long kid friendly beach with small waves perfect for the beginner surfer, across from the beach is a lovely grassy park perfect for a picnic or a kick about.
San Diego History: In the town of Julian away from the hustle and bustle of central San Diego you can find rich history of gold mining that takes you back to the 19th century. Perfect for any history buff or family outing.
So whether your going for a relaxed vacation of a fun packed family adventure I really hope you have a brilliant time and you make some amazing memories, don't forget to bring your camera or your go pro (depending on what activities your trying) and maybe even a drone too! Because pictures are worth a thousand words and this isn't a trip you will want to forget.
